Cognism seeks a Senior Accountant to be a key leader supporting the Accounting department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of month-end reconciliations, various tax/compliance filings, and assisting with the design and adoption of control processes and procedures across the accounting operations. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.
Key Job Responsibilities
- This role requires a self-starter with problem solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Analyze accounting records, general ledger and subledgers for accuracy.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage submission of month-end packages from foreign subsidiaries.
- Assist in indirect tax (VAT/Sales tax) compliance.
- Assist in design and documentation of process around month-end close and other financial processes.
- Assist with external audits.
- Work across departments to problem solve and improve processes as it relates to the financial reporting system and financial processes.
- Assist in rollout of NetSuite to subsidiaries.
- Assist with preparation of ad hoc tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- At least 5-years experience in accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Proven ability to multi-task
- Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required
- CPA/ACCA accreditation preferred but not required
