About the Role:
We are seeking a Data Science Team Lead to spearhead our talented team of data scientists. This pivotal role involves guiding the team to execute strategic projects that significantly impact our business outcomes. As a leader, you will not only drive the team’s strategic direction but also ensure their professional growth and maintain high collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and articulate a clear vision for the data science team, aligning with the company’s objectives. Lead the team in the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Project Management: Oversee the design and delivery of data science projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines. Act as the point of contact for project stakeholders, providing updates and integrating feedback.
- Technical Expertise: Advance the team’s proficiency in data organization, extraction, fusion, and modeling using our enterprise data architecture. Promote innovation in deploying AI and machine learning solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Team Development: Cultivate a culture of feedback and continuous improvement. Mentor team members, encouraging skill development and career growth. Resolve conflicts and promote teamwork both within and across departments.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders to integrate data science into broader company initiatives. Ensure that data-driven insights are accessible and actionable across the organization.
Requirements:
- Education: MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in SQL, Python, and Spark. Strong experience in big data technologies, AI, ML, and data modeling. Familiarity with AWS tools like S3, Iceberg, Glue Jobs, Athena, etc., is highly desirable. Experience with deep learning methodologies such as recurrent neural networks, transformers
- Experience: At least 5 years in data science, with a proven track record of impactful project delivery. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in managing data science teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and drive projects under tight timelines.
