Role Overview
As our Senior Backend Tech Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our backend technology vision and strategy. You will be deeply involved in high-level architectural decisions, ensuring that our technology stack scales effectively with our growth. This role requires a proactive approach to managing technical debt, ensuring that our systems remain robust, maintainable, and adaptable to future needs. Collaboration with various stakeholders to understand requirements, devise effective solutions, and create long-term strategies is a key part of this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive Backend Development: Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems.
- Architectural Leadership: Make high-level architectural and design decisions, guiding the technical direction of our backend systems in collaboration with our Director of Architecture.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide the engineering team on best development practices.
- Technical Debt Management: Proactively identify, prioritize, and address technical debt to ensure long-term code quality and maintainability.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex backend issues and guide the team in finding and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering team, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement practices within the team, ensuring our codebase and infrastructure evolve with our business needs.

Key Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Backend Tech Lead or in a similar senior role, focusing on high-level architecture, strategy, and vision.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, RabbitMQ. Experience with ReactJS and GraphQL is a plus.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Exceptional ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Technical Debt Management: Experience in identifying and managing technical debt, ensuring long-term maintainability of codebases.
- Project Management: Familiarity with Scrum project management methodology.
- SaaS Industry: Understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry.
