About The Position
Contrast Security seeks a dynamic and experienced CMO to lead our marketing efforts. As the CMO, you will drive the company's growth by developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that resonate with our target audience and differentiate our solutions in the market.
Reporting to the CEO, you will help scale the business and bring a proven track record of success in developing world-class marketing strategies and elevating Contrast's brand in the Cybersecurity space. Contrast Security’s CMO will be a strong storyteller and category creator focused on customer growth and advocacy with a proven track record of partnering with Sales and Product to achieve measurable revenue growth and building and leading high-performance teams in a growth-stage environment.
He/she will be responsible for optimizing all the key aspects of the growth cycle and driving collaborative projects within the company. Working across North America, EMEA & APJ, you will work closely with sales and account management stakeholders to help deliver growth targets. The CMO role will have extensive reach as Contrast views this as a key role in ensuring we meet our strategic objectives globally.
Develop a leveraged PR strategy, elevating Contrast’s brand in the market, driving increased awareness/voice of the brand, and building broad market recognition. Tap into internal evangelists and build a platform/channels to promote the Contrast story and make Contrast a go-to source for thought leadership. Build and maintain a strong, differentiated brand presence in the AppSec industry. Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all marketing materials.
Product Positioning and Messaging
Define and communicate the unique value proposition of Contrast Security's products and solutions, ensuring alignment with market needs and competitive differentiation.
Develop a strong product marketing framework focused on segmentation, targeting, competitive intelligence, positioning, and sales tools. Drive winning competitive positioning through market analysis and competitive intelligence and exploit Contrast’s unique market and technology opportunities.
Build a strong and strategic analyst relations platform to promote Contrast’s position and perception with Gartner. Partner tightly with the Product and Sales Leaders to feed a complex and lengthy go-to-market machine. Formulate new and innovative ways to position and promote Contrast’s products for accelerated sales, both new customer acquisition and expansion business. Ensure strong sales enablement, including developing content creation such as collateral, white papers, training, and other key sales tools.
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including target market analysis, pricing strategies, and sales enablement plans.
Demand Generation Strategy
Utilizing a strong understanding of pipeline generation, build and engage the Contrast Security user base supporting land and expand the sales model. Provide deep understanding of digital marketing insights, analytics, content marketing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), email marketing, lead generation, landing page marketing, SEO, and social. Bring a thoughtful ABM approach, understanding the market segments, and building our target markets.
Must have a strong comprehension of dynamic pipeline building and top-of-funnel activity, as well as full-funnel analysis, to have a holistic view of what’s working/what’s not working with a focus on continuous measures to modify efforts as needed.
Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and potential threats. Develop ROI-based, measurable marketing programs, from account-based to installed base marketing, that align with Contrast’s business priorities; integrate across relevant touch points and deliver predictable outcomes. Ensure alignment across the executive team to continuously grow and develop an effective product and corporate strategy with a customer-driven approach.
Define the strategy and lead execution of all major corporate marketing efforts for one of the most innovative and leading brands in enterprise software security, including product marketing, brand marketing, B2B demand generation, exec & corporate communications, PR, field marketing, and social marketing.
Collaborate with the sales team to create sales collateral, training programs, and tools that empower the sales force to communicate product value and drive revenue growth effectively.
Lead the creation of compelling marketing content, including whitepapers, case studies, webinars, videos, and blog posts, to educate the market and generate demand.
Lead the field marketing strategy with multiple go-to-market approaches globally in North America, EMEA & APJ (direct, indirect, ABM, post-sale customer engagement) in partnership with the field and channel teams (understanding where to standardize and when to localize). Design marketing activities mapped to the corporate strategy - aligned with and providing dedicated support to the go-to-market strategies. Work closely with field sales teams to develop a feedback loop, uncovering trends and opportunities during the sales cycle and pressure testing new marketing ideas. Strengthen sales alignment and drive pipeline acceleration.
Analyst and Public Relations
Build and maintain relationships with industry analysts and manage external PR agencies to enhance Contrast Security's visibility and credibility in the cybersecurity space. You are a natural evangelist – someone who can demonstrate a presence in the market at speaking engagements and other mediums serving CMO influence.
Develop a leveraged PR strategy, elevating Contrast’s brand in the market, driving increased awareness/voice of the brand, and building broad market recognition. Tap into internal evangelists and build a platform/channels to promote the Contrast story and make Contrast a go-to source for thought leadership.
Cultivate customer advocates and references to support marketing and sales efforts, including developing customer success stories.
Work closely with product management, engineering, sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product roadmaps align with market needs and customer feedback.
Metrics and Measurement
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives and regularly report on progress to the executive team.
Extensive experience working as a partner with finance, effectively managing a large marketing budget with demonstrated success in improving Return on Marketing Investment.
Build, mentor, and motivate a high-performing marketing team comprised of corporate marketing, marketing communications, and product marketing, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
Proven experience (7+ years) in product-focused marketing leadership roles within the cybersecurity space, preferably within the DevSecOps or software development industry
Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for software products
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing messages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deep knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape and competitive trends
Ability to manage and inspire a diverse team of marketing and product professionals
Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue goals
Familiarity with SaaS business models is a plus

What We Offer
Salary and Other Compensation
This position's standard base pay range is $275,000 - $375,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a VCP and equity package subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider several factors: geography, skill set, experience, job scope, and current market data.
