About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supplier Quality Manager to join our team in China. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products sourced from our suppliers. This position involves conducting at-source inspections at various factories and working closely with suppliers to maintain and improve product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• At-Source Inspections: Conduct on-site inspections at supplier factories across China to verify product quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure understanding and alignment on quality requirements and continuous improvement
• Quality Control: Implement quality control processes and procedures to assess and improve the quality of supplied products
• Data Analysis: Analyse inspection data and report findings to the relevant stakeholders, including product managers and senior management
• Issue Resolution: Work collaboratively with suppliers to address quality issues, provide feedback, and guide them in implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the supply chain, and contribute to the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives
• Travel: Travel will be around 80% of the role where you will be travelling to suppliers in and around the area
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports and present them to management, highlighting quality performance and recommending actions

What Are We Looking For?

Experience Required:

• Fluent in speaking and written English and Mandarin
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality management or manufacturing
• Demonstrated experience in conducting at-source inspections and managing supplier relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in using quality control tools and methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• A valid driver's licence and access to a car for travel to supplier locations
• Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO13485 and other relevant quality standards is a plus

Additional Information:

• This position is working remotely/from home
• Daily visits around Shenzhen and Guangdong area of China are required
• Initial 1-year contract with a potential for extension
