About the Role:

Here at Geomiq we are looking for a Supply Chain Data Analyst to join our Production team. This Data Analyst role will have you utilising your technical skills and industry knowledge to help design the end-to-end data process to help Geomiq scale further and maintain customer satisfaction.

What are we looking for?

  • Model Development and Automation:
    • Designing, building, and implementing models that automate the process of data analysis or decision-making.
    • Utilising machine learning, statistical methods, and other analytical techniques to create predictive models, classification models, or other types of automated systems.
    • Developing and optimising data workflows and pipelines, and engineering new data points for comprehensive analysis.
  • Expert Data Warehousing:
    • Demonstrating expert proficiency in managing and manipulating large datasets within a data warehouse environment.
    • Ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and accessibility while also implementing best practices in data warehousing.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization:
    • Analysing complex data sets and presenting the findings in a clear and actionable format for senior management using Power BI tools.
    • Building and maintaining scalable and dynamic dashboards that provide deep insights into marketplace operations.
  • Monitoring and Testing:
    • Conducting tests to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the models.
    • Optimising models based on performance metrics to improve efficiency and outcome.
    • Continuously monitoring the performance of the models to ensure they remain accurate and relevant over time.
    • Updating and refining models as necessary to adapt to new data or changing business conditions.
  • Strategic Problem Solving, and Commercial Acumen:
    • Employ data-driven insights to deliver strategic recommendations by analyzing large datasets to uncover patterns, predict trends, and understand market dynamics. Use this information to design and implement strategies that optimize operations, improve customer engagement, and boost profitability. Additionally, apply a comprehensive understanding of marketplace economics, considering both supply and demand factors, to inform these strategies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that insights derived from data align with business strategies and effectively respond to market demands.

Experience required:

  • Advanced Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in supply chain background, preferably within the e-commerce fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing start-up environment and previous experience leading small teams.
  • Familiarity with Cloud platform, GCP
  • Expertise is setting up and analysing A/B testing
  • Deep expertise in data warehouse technologies such as BigQuery, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data manipulation languages.
  • Knowledge of and understanding Data ETL Process
  • Expertise in PowerBi visualisation and/or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale data projects in a dynamic marketplace setting.
Desired experience:
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex data to diverse audiences, including senior management.
  • Technical and non-technical reporting to management.
  • Proven analytical skills with an ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and make data-driven decisions.
