What we expect

This is a hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) role in Brisbane, CA.

Odoo is expanding its engineering team and is looking for a software engineer to help maintain and enhance client solutions. This role is essential in ensuring smooth transitions to newer versions of Odoo while preserving the integrity of existing deployments. You will be responsible for fixing existing code, maintaining solutions, and leading migration efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and ensure the operational stability of client solutions, working within a cross-functional team of business advisors, developers, and customers
  • Lead the migration of client solutions to future Odoo releases, ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining solution integrity
  • Own assigned migration projects and issues, delivering high-quality, on-time solutions
  • Design and develop effective, scalable integrations within Odoo or with third-party applications
  • Troubleshoot, debug, fix, and upgrade software to ensure reliable performance in production environments
  • Adhere to and promote best programming practices, including coding standards, code and design reviews, and comprehensive test coverage
  • Provide technical support to maintain and enhance customized solutions
  • Implement modification requests across various Odoo applications
  • Support migration and software refresh activities, including database migration on cloud platforms, pre- and post-migration troubleshooting, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure a smooth process
Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Frontend: 1+ years of professional experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, with proficiency in HTML, SASS/LESS, and CSS
  • Backend: 1+ years of experience with an Object-Oriented programming language (Python preferred)
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and design concepts (UML, ERD, RDBMS)
  • Ability to debug and optimize custom software solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with team members, partners, and customers
Nice to HAves
  • Professional experience in software development
  • Experience with Odoo or similar ERP systems
  • Strong technical communication and collaboration skills
  • Background in SaaS or startup environments
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux platforms
  • A proactive learning mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Additional language skills (Spanish, French, or Portuguese preferred)

The estimated annual compensation range for this role is $90,000-$105,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
